Ukraine said today that it had hit a Russian battery factory in the Lipetsk region, which Kiev said supplied Russian missile and aerial bomb manufacturers, Reuters reported, citing a message on the "Telegram" of the Ukrainian General Staff, BTA reports.
According to the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the "Energy" factory was hit in the Russian city of Yelets in the Lipetsk region.
"The shutdown of the "Energy" factory "may leave parts of the occupiers' military equipment and weapons without critical batteries," the statement said.
The Ukrainian General Staff claims that the batteries produced at the plant are used for Russian aerial bombs, cruise missiles and the Iskander-M ballistic missile.
Russia regularly launches salvos of missiles and drones against Ukraine. Kiev, which lacks Moscow's traditional long-range firepower, responds to these strikes with Ukrainian-made drones.
