Montenegrin Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić said that Serbia is at the top of the list of countries with direct investments in Montenegro, adding that the foreign trade exchange between the two countries is very strong, the Montenegrin MINA agency reported to BTA.
“That is why it is important for us that our relations continue to develop and strengthen“, Kordić said at a meeting with the President of the Belgrade City Council Nikola Nikodijević.
The meeting focused on strengthening the tourist exchange between Montenegro and Serbia, developing potential joint activities in international markets and strengthening cooperation in the investment and hospitality sectors.
Kordić reminded that tourists from Serbia has the largest share of the total number of overnight stays in Montenegro - as much as 25 percent, according to a press release from the Ministry of Tourism.
“Every year we have 450,000 visitors from Serbia and we want to show interest in this market and invite guests to visit Montenegro, where they are always welcome“, said Kordic.
Nikodijevic expressed satisfaction with the meeting with the Montenegrin delegation, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation in tourism.
