Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov confirmed yesterday his participation in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit in a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president announced in "Ex", quoted by Ukrinform and BTA.

"I spoke with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. I sent an invitation to participate in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit. This is an important event where we will talk about the security of our entire region, including the security of the Black Sea, the recovery of Ukraine from the war and our cooperation in many different areas. The Prime Minister confirmed his participation. The summit will have a high level of representation of the countries," Zelensky wrote.

The previous third Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit was held on October 9, 2024 in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik. The official result of the meeting in Dubrovnik was the signing of an important agreement on cooperation and partnership between Croatia and Kiev, as well as a joint declaration in support of Ukraine by the participants, who were represented at the level of leaders of the Balkan and Southern European countries, Ukrinform notes.

Volodymyr Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed in a telephone conversation the possibility of organizing a meeting at the level of leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United States.

„I just had a good and very meaningful conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.“ “We also discussed the possibility of organizing a quadrilateral meeting at the level of leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United States“, he wrote on his Telegram channel.

In addition, Zelensky and Erdogan touched upon the topic of the upcoming meeting of the delegations of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul. “We discussed a possible next meeting in Istanbul and under what conditions Ukraine is ready to participate in it. We still believe that this meeting cannot and should not be in vain.“

Yesterday, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said, that direct negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Zelensky and US leader Donald Trump to resolve the Ukrainian conflict can be held only after achieving results in the negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine.

This is how Peskov commented on the words of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who expressed hope that Moscow and Kiev would be able to complete the technical stage of the negotiations on June 2, after which a meeting of the leaders of Turkey, the United States, Russia and Ukraine could be held.
