US President Donald Trump is losing patience with American entrepreneur Elon Musk over his sharp criticism of the bill to cut government spending, writes the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources.

According to their information, Musk, who until recently headed the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Trump administration, has long been disappointed with the new bill. He was prompted to make more aggressive statements on this issue after Trump withdrew the nomination of the entrepreneur's protégé Jared Isaacman for the post of NASA administrator, the newspaper's interlocutors believe.

Unnamed American officials told the newspaper that it was too early to say how much Musk's attacks would affect his relationship with Trump. The current US president knows how to forgive, but does not forget disrespect, the newspaper's sources added.

Musk previously said that the Trump administration's bill to reduce government spending was “disgusting“ and noted that such an initiative “would increase the already gigantic budget deficit“ and “burden American citizens with unbearable debt“.
