Protests in Tel Aviv and Rome for release of hostages and end of war in Gaza Strip

Israel announced that the leader of the Palestinian group "Mujahideen Brigades", who was directly linked to the kidnapping and murder of the three members of the Israeli Bibas family, was killed, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Shiri Bibas and her two children have become a symbol of the tragedy with the hostages taken to Gaza after the attack by "Hamas" on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. They were killed during their captivity last year and their bodies were returned to Israel by "Hamas" earlier this year.

On Friday, the Israeli army announced the deaths of four hostages in the Gaza Strip and said it was 10,000 short of troops for the operation in the Palestinian territory.

Negotiations to end the war in Gaza have so far failed. They are being brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States.

Of the 251 people kidnapped in the October 7, 2023 attack, 55 are still in Gaza, with 31 believed to be dead, Israeli authorities say.
