Polish and allied aircraft were scrambled early this morning to protect Polish airspace after Russia launched airstrikes against western Ukraine near the Polish-Ukrainian border, the Polish Armed Forces' Operational Command said, as quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“The measures taken are aimed at ensuring security in regions bordering the risk zones“, the command said in a post on the “Ex“ platform (formerly Twitter).
The entire territory of Ukraine was under air alert since the early hours of the day, after a warning from the Ukrainian Air Force about Russian missile and drone attacks.
