The Israeli army will strike "all regime sites" in Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, declaring that Israel's attack on the Islamic Republic the previous day had dealt a "real blow" to its nuclear program, Agence France-Presse reported.
"The routes to Tehran are open, very soon you will see Israeli planes (...) in the sky over Tehran. We will strike all sites and targets of the ayatollahs' regime," the prime minister said in a video message.
Since Friday, "we have dealt a real blow to their nuclear program," he added. In Friday's massive strikes, Israel hit more than 200 targets in Iran, according to the Israeli military.
"What they have felt so far is nothing compared to what they will feel in the coming days," Netanyahu added yesterday. "We are acting with all the necessary force to eliminate this dual threat to the State of Israel," he added, referring to Iran's nuclear program and its ballistic missile capabilities.
Schools in Israel have switched to distance learning for a week, DPA reported yesterday. Final exams, including in history and biology, will be postponed by a week. Students are not expected to return to school until June 22. About 2.5 million children and young people attending schools across the country are affected.
Tens of thousands of Israelis stranded abroad are likely to remain stranded for a long time, said Shmuel Zakkai, head of the Israeli aviation authority. It could be weeks before all Israelis can return home, he told Israel's "Kan" television.
Israel will resume civil flights gradually, cautiously and slowly, as soon as circumstances allow, he said. There are currently no flights to or from the country.
