Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned Israel's actions against Iran and called for an immediate end to hostilities. This became clear after a telephone conversation between the two leaders on Monday, the “Reuters” agency reported, citing a statement from the Kremlin, News.bg reports.
“The two sides expressed the most serious concern about the ongoing escalation of the Iran-Israeli conflict, which has already resulted in a significant number of casualties and has serious long-term consequences for the entire region“, the official statement said.
Putin and Erdogan stressed the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resolution of controversial issues - including those related to Iran's nuclear program - through political and diplomatic means.
The two leaders agreed to continue close cooperation on the issue, the Kremlin added.
