US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said they had finalized the trade agreement reached between the two allies last month, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Trump, standing next to Starmer at the G7 summit in Canada, said relations with Britain were "fantastic", waving before almost dropping the proclamation he said had just been signed. "We signed it and it's done", Trump said.

The US president mistakenly called the document "a trade agreement with the European Union" before specifying that it was a deal with the UK.

Starmer, in turn, said that the proclamation would implement the agreements reached on car tariffs and in the aerospace industry, but did not give further details. "This is a very good day for both of our countries, a real sign of strength", said the British Prime Minister.

The United States will impose new quotas on steel and aluminum imports from Britain, exempt from a 25% duty, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, citing a presidential order announced yesterday by the White House.

The agency notes that this is part of the trade deal announced between the two countries during the G-7 summit.

The quota plan depends on whether Britain meets certain requirements regarding the security of steel supply chains and ownership of the relevant production facilities, President Trump's order also says.

The US State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale of spare parts for fighter jets to Australia for 2 billion. dollars, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, citing a Pentagon statement.

The US State Department has approved a potential foreign military sale of advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles and related equipment to Italy in a deal worth about 211 million. dollars, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, referring to a statement made last night by the Pentagon.
