Germany, together with its European partners, is open to further discussions with Iran if Tehran shows serious readiness to provide guarantees regarding its nuclear and missile programs. This was stated today by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful, quoted by "Reuters", BTA reports.
“My colleagues from the United Kingdom, France, as well as the High Representative of the European Union, have always stressed that we are ready for talks“, Vaddeful said ahead of his upcoming meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister in Geneva.
He specified that a key condition for dialogue is “Iran's serious readiness to abandon any enrichment of nuclear material that could be used to create a nuclear weapon“.
Furthermore, according to the German Foreign Minister, it is necessary that Iran's missile program also be included in the negotiations. “If this serious readiness is present, we are also ready to participate in subsequent talks“, Vaddeful concluded.
