Tehran welcomed the talks with Washington on the Iranian nuclear program, but the US attacked nuclear facilities on the territory of the Islamic Republic.
This was said by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
"Initially, the Americans claimed that they intended to make sure that our nuclear program was peaceful. We welcomed the dialogue, but they not only violated the agreements, but also, in full coordination with the Zionist regime, struck our facilities," Pezeshkian said.
Earlier today, he condemned the US strikes on nuclear sites in Iran and defined them as aggression, world agencies quoted by BTA reported.
He also accused Washington of being behind Israel's military operation in Iran. “This aggression showed that America is the main factor behind the hostile actions of the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran,“ Pezeshkian said, adding that the US intervened after noting Israel's obvious inability.
