US President Donald Trump praised Israel's decision to limit the scale of its strike on Iran after the announced ceasefire, saying he was "very proud" of the approach, the Times of Israel quoted him as saying.
"I was so proud of them", Trump said at the NATO summit in The Hague."It was a great thing."
He noted that "technically they were right", referring to Israel's claims that Iran violated the ceasefire by firing missiles at Israel after the ceasefire began at 7 a.m. "It was a small violation."
When asked if he would strike Iran again if it restored its uranium enrichment facilities, Trump replied: "Of course."
In a speech at the NATO summit in the Netherlands, US President Donald Trump said there was "a lot of progress" in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
"I think because of this attack that we launched", he continues, referring to the strikes on Iran's nuclear program, "I think we're going to have very good news... Gaza is very close."
Trump dismissed leaked intelligence reports suggesting that the US and Israeli strikes on Iran had set back its nuclear program by only a few months.
"They really don't know", Trump said, adding that the attacks resulted in "total destruction" of three key Iranian nuclear sites. He said it was "a devastating attack" and that the destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities is what forced Tehran to settle for a ceasefire.
The "enrichment facility" Iran needs to produce nuclear weapons is gone, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, without specifying the location of the facility. "Everything under that mountain is in bad shape", Rubio insisted, adding that Tehran's nuclear program is "far behind" from where it was before the operation.
"Any assessment that tells you it was anything else is speculation with other motives", US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth insisted, adding that the intelligence report in question has "low credibility".
