Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko accused current head of state Volodymyr Zelensky of “creeping authoritarianism“ in front of The Times.
Poroshenko advised the Ukrainian leader not to try to hold on to power, warning him that Ukrainians could lose patience.
“Zelensky should listen to this, because if you are closed to people, it can have a boiling cauldron effect,“ he noted.
French President Emmanuel Macron “rounded” German Chancellor Merz about his reluctance to contact Putin after holding a conversation with the Russian president. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.
"The dialogue between the West and Russia was interrupted by the West itself, and the situation in the world has only worsened from this. If the restoration of dialogue becomes systematic, the world will benefit from this. Macron clearly bypassed Merz for “no talk with Putin“. Just as Trump bypassed all European leaders before. So let them compete for Russia. We are always ready for a conversation, meaningful and on equal terms“, the Russian deputy wrote.
Earlier it became known that after the conversation Macron spoke in favor of continuing negotiations with Putin. The leaders of Russia and France agreed to coordinate approaches and hold talks again in the near future.
