Dozens of combat drones attacked Kiev

The Ukrainian capital was attacked by dozens of Russian combat drones, DPA reported, quoted by BTA, citing a statement from the authorities in Kiev.

"According to preliminary information, several fires are burning in the Solomyansky district“, the head of the Kiev military administration Timur Tkachenko wrote in the “Telegram“ application.

All the fires are burning in residential buildings.

Tkachenko said that there was probably damage, but did not give further details.

Damage caused by drones has been reported in at least four other districts of the Ukrainian capital.

Air defenses in the city are heard working for hours.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian military also fired at least one hypersonic missile.

Five people were killed in Russian shelling in and near the eastern Ukrainian town of Pokrovsk, which is often targeted by Russian strikes, said Vadim Filashkin, head of the Donetsk regional state administration, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

On the "Telegram" application, he specified that two people were killed in Pokrovsk – a key logistics center from which local authorities have called on the population to evacuate.

Another two people were killed in Bylitske, northwest of Pokrovsk, and the fifth victim was in Ilinivka, between Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk – another city that has been a frequent target of Russian attacks as Moscow's forces slowly advance in the Donetsk region, Reuters reported.

In another Russian attack, the roof of a 16-story apartment building in a northern suburb of Kiev was set on fire, the head of the city's military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said.

"Enemy drones are flying over Kiev. Our defense is working to repel the threat," Tkachenko wrote on "Telegram".

The mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, issued an appeal for medical teams to head to the Oblonsky district, where the fire is burning.
