The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that Russian forces have captured the village of Tolstoy in Donetsk region and that strikes hit Ukrainian military airfields overnight, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
The Russian armed forces carried out a group strike with high-precision weapons, including hypersonic ballistic missiles "Dagger" and attack drones, against the infrastructure of Ukrainian military airfields overnight, the ministry said. It assured that all targeted targets were hit.
The village of Tolstoy is located in the Velikonovosilsky district, near the administrative border of Donetsk with Dnipropetrovsk region.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier today that the largest Russian drone attack since the start of the war last night against Ukraine showed the need for "painful" sanctions on Russia and secondary punitive measures against Russian oil, Reuters reported.
Earlier this morning, Kiev reported that Ukraine had been attacked by a record 728 drones overnight.
