A missing Mi-8 helicopter has been found in Russia's Khabarovsk Krai, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry reported.

„During aerial reconnaissance, a Rosaviatsia helicopter discovered the crash site of the Mi-8 helicopter, which disappeared on July 14 on the way from Okhotsk to Magadan. The wreckage was found in the Khabarovsk Territory, near Cape Gadikan,“ the report said.

According to the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee for Transport, the helicopter was completely destroyed.

There is no information yet about the victims, it is believed that all five people on board died.

A case has been opened on the case for violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of an aircraft, which led to the death of two or more people.

It is reported that the helicopter's emergency radio beacon did not work. The regional emergency dispatch service specified that there was no distress signal. There were five people on board the helicopter. On Tuesday, aircraft from the Federal Air Transport Agency (from Okhotsk) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (from Magadan) took off to search.

The search was later suspended until Wednesday due to bad weather.
