There are currently no plans to hold a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by Russian media, News.bg reports.
At the same time, Peskov stressed that such a conversation could be organized "very quickly", if necessary.
The last contact between the two heads of state took place on July 3. During the conversation, Putin assured Trump that Russia would not give up its goals in Ukraine, according to official information from Moscow.
After the conversation, relations between the two deteriorated. Donald Trump expressed disappointment with the Russian president and announced the resumption of arms supplies to Ukraine. In addition, he set an ultimatum of 50 days to reach a peace agreement, after which Russia would be faced with the introduction of secondary customs.
In response, former Russian President and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev rejected the ultimatum, stating that Moscow was not interested in “theatrical warnings“.
