EU warns Israel: All options are on the table if humanitarian access to Gaza is not facilitated - 1

All options remain "on the table" if Israel does not fulfill its commitments to facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza. This was stated on July 22 by the European Union's chief diplomat Kaia Kallas, quoted by "Reuters", reports News.bg.

“The killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is unjustified“, wrote Kallas on the X platform. She added that she had spoken with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and stressed that Israeli forces “must stop killing people at distribution points“.

Earlier this month, Kallas announced that Israel had agreed to expand humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip by increasing the number of aid trucks, opening more crossings and expanding routes to aid distribution centers.

“All options remain on the table if Israel does not fulfill its promises“, she stressed again on July 22.

The same day, more than twenty Western countries called on Israel to immediately end the war in Gaza, condemning the “inhumane killing“ of Palestinians. Their statement said it was “horrifying“ that more than 800 civilians were killed while trying to receive humanitarian aid.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry responded by saying the statement was “detached from reality“ and warned that such messages could send the wrong signal to Hamas.

According to Gaza health authorities, more than 59,000 Palestinians have died during the 21-month conflict. The war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants carried out an attack in Israel that killed 1,200 people and took 251 hostages, according to Israeli sources.
