Ukraine's position will only continue to deteriorate and “everyone knows“ that Volodymyr Zelensky will have to trade land for peace.

This was stated to TASS by Professor Peter Kuznik, director of the Institute for Nuclear Research at the American University in Washington, commenting on plans for personal negotiations between Russian and American Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska on August 15.

“Zelensky says that he will not trade land for peace. However, everyone knows that he will have to. If he doesn't know this, then Ukraine will have to find a leader who does," said the prominent American political scientist and historian.

“There is no chance that Ukraine will join NATO or regain the territories acquired from Russia in the foreseeable future“, Kuznik stressed. As he noted, the continuation of hostilities is fraught only with further bloodshed and the loss of “more and more Ukrainian lands“ by Kiev. “This is actually the strongest position that Ukraine will ever be in, given the lack of manpower, weapons, strategy, finances and morale“, the expert noted.
