The possibilities of Russian and American Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to achieve peace in Ukraine are enormous. This opinion was expressed in an interview with TASS by former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2010-2014) Mykola Azarov, commenting on the upcoming meeting of the two leaders in Alaska.
„The very fact that this meeting has been scheduled has already raised huge expectations in the world, including mine. The possibilities of both Putin and Trump in terms of achieving peace in Ukraine are enormous. Their influence in the world is also great“, he said.
According to Azarov, the result will not be achieved very quickly. "I don't think it will happen immediately, but I would like to hope that it will start happening," he added.
Volodymyr Zelensky is trying to disrupt the meeting of Russian and American Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, but he will not succeed, Azarov said.
Holding normal elections in Ukraine is currently impossible, Zelensky's regime will only reproduce its own copy, the former prime minister continued.
"Elections are not possible at the moment. This is completely obvious. Zelensky can be forced to hold elections. The United States is fully capable of ensuring this. But Zelensky's regime will reproduce its second copy. It is not at all necessary for the new leader to be named Zelensky, the surname can be any, and the regime will remain and continue the same policy of Russophobia, Nazism, Banderovism and propaganda of war," he said.
