The situation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, is currently the most difficult: Russian troops are about a kilometer away, and 1,327 civilians remain in the city, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration Vadim Filashkin announced on television, Ukrinform reported.
"Currently, in Pokrovsk, where the situation is most difficult, 1,327 people remain, and the enemy is about a kilometer away. But our defense forces are doing everything they can to hold back the occupiers, they are very strong," the district head said.
According to him, evacuation from the city is currently possible only with the support of the Ukrainian military.
"As for evacuation, it is almost impossible without the Defense Forces, since the enemy is shelling all access roads with fiber-optic drones... Those who want to leave now can do so only with the support of the Defense Forces," Filashkin added.
