Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
„Strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS of the long-range aviation carried out a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan. The flight duration was more than six hours. The escort of the fighters was provided by crews of Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The statement noted that the crews of long-range aviation regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, Black and Baltic Seas. All flights of Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft are carried out in strict compliance with international rules for the use of airspace, the Ministry added.
