Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak said that the United States and Russia will not impose conditions on Ukraine that the Ukrainian people would not accept, Focus reports.
“Let's be realistic: peace will not come instantly and some Ukrainian territories will remain temporarily under occupation until the pressure of sanctions and isolation breaks the Russian economy. However, yesterday it was clearly shown in the White House that the apocalyptic scenario is also impossible“, Podoliak pointed out in a comment published on the social network X.
He added that Europe will participate together with the US in defining the principles of the transition to peace, noting that the EU's security border now passes through Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reacted sharply to the words of Podoliak. Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team of “deceiving, raping, dismembering and mass-executing the Ukrainian people“ and described Kiev's actions as “genocide“.
Zakharova also pointed out that a thousand Ukrainian prisoners were being treated as unwanted by the Kiev regime and called for an end to “hiding behind the backs of those you have disowned“.
