A Ukrainian drone strike has set fire to an industrial plant in the city of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, the region's governor Yuri Slyusar said, as quoted by the BBC, reports News.bg.
Slyusar posted on his Telegram channel that Russian air defenses repelled an attack overnight in the Kamensk, Donetsk, Novoshakhtinsk, Kamenskoye, Millerovsky, Belokalitvinsky and Tarasovsky districts.
„A fire broke out at one of the industrial plants in Novoshakhtinsk. According to preliminary data, there were no injuries. Emergency services are working at the scene of the incident,“ the governor said.
Russian Telegram channels, citing eyewitnesses, reported that the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery had caught fire.
According to Reuters, the plant produces petroleum products primarily for export, with an annual output of about 5 million metric tons of oil, or 100,000 barrels per day.
