The administration in Washington has ordered the American intelligence community not to provide members of the Western alliance “Five Eyes“ with any information related to negotiations with Moscow and Kiev to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, the CBS television channel reported.
According to media sources among American officials, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has ordered American intelligence agencies “ not to provide any information regarding the Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations“ to members of this alliance. In addition to the United States, it includes Australia, Great Britain, Canada and New Zealand.
The relevant document, signed by Gabbard, is dated July 20. According to him, intelligence information cannot be provided to citizens of other countries if it has not been previously published. The ban does not apply to information that is not directly related to the negotiations and is obtained through diplomatic channels, as well as to information that is transmitted to Kiev to facilitate military operations.
The reasons for this ban are not reported.
