The number of tourists killed in floods in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has risen to 12, Xinhua reported.

According to the agency, authorities have mobilized over 1,600 rescuers for search operation. The body of the last of the tourists, who were swept away along with their cars by the powerful current, was found on Friday morning.

Last week, eight deaths and four missing were reported. The incident occurred at 10 p.m. Beijing time on August 16 at a tourist camp in Bayan Nur city.
