Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said after the meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing“ in Paris that the leaders demonstrated a united position and determination to continue their support for Ukraine in the war with Russia, PAP reported, BTA reports.
The meeting was attended in person by the presidents of France and Ukraine, as well as the prime ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark, while the other partner countries joined online.
The talks focused on guarantees for Ukraine's security. Tusk stressed that he was impressed by the solidarity shown and the good cooperation at the European level. He clarified that Poland has no intention of deploying troops to Ukraine, but recalled that his country is taking on a key role through a logistics center for coordinating international aid - a task that has received full support.
In the second part of the meeting, the leaders held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump to discuss how to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to start peace talks. Tusk acknowledged that disappointment was expressed at the lack of results despite efforts by Europe and the United States.
