Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz justified the attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar, saying the Jewish state would strike its enemies no matter where they were, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The Israeli strike on the leaders of the Palestinian Islamist organization in Doha yesterday, which killed six people, angered Qatar and drew rare criticism from US President Donald Trump.
Katz said Israel would hold everyone involved in the October 7, 2023, massacre in southern Israel accountable. The attack sparked the war in Gaza, which continues despite growing international criticism over the worsening humanitarian situation in the the strip.
“Israel's security policy is clear, our long arm will reach our enemies everywhere. There is no place for them to hide“, Katz wrote on the social network “Ex“.
He threatened “Hamas“ with destruction and warned that Gaza would be devastated if the group did not accept Israel's conditions for ending the war. Israel is insisting above all on the release of all hostages and the disarmament of “Hamas“.
Qatar, along with Egypt and the United States, is acting as a mediator between Israel and “Hamas“ in the conflict. However, ceasefire talks have been stalled for months, DPA recalls.
