Over 30 drones were destroyed over the Leningrad Region, a fire is being extinguished on one of the ships in the port of Primorsk, Governor Alexander Drozdenko announced on his Telegram channel.
„Over 30 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed over the Leningrad Region by air defense forces and means. A fire on one of the ships in the port of Primorsk is being extinguished. The fire extinguishing system has been activated“, Drozdenko wrote.
He specified that the debris from the drones fell in Vsevolozhsk, Tosno, the villages of Pokrovskoye and Uzmino, as well as outside settlements in the Lomonosov district.
There were no casualties. Repelling the drone attack continues, the governor warned.
Earlier, he reported that the "Carpet" plan has been implemented within a radius of 100 kilometers from Pulkovo Airport, the Sixth Army repels the drone attack.
Russian anti-aircraft units destroyed or shot down nine Ukrainian drones flying towards the capital Moscow early this morning, the city's mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
In a series of messages on the Telegram app, Sobyanin wrote that specialized teams were examining the fallen drone fragments.
The governor of the Leningrad Region, which is home to Russia's second-largest city - St. Petersburg, reported that air defense measures against drones had also been taken. They are in effect within a 100 km radius around Pulkovo Airport, he added on Telegram.
According to Russian authorities, the number of drones Ukraine used to attack Russia is still being clarified.
