Prince Harry arrived on a surprise visit to Kiev at the invitation of the Ukrainian government, The Guardian reports. He said he wants to do “everything possible” to help the recovery of thousands of soldiers seriously injured in the three-year war, reports Focus.
During his visit, the British prince, together with a team from the Invictus Games Foundation, will present new initiatives aimed at the rehabilitation of injured servicemen. The ultimate goal of the programs is to cover all regions of the country.
According to data from the beginning of the year, the war has already left about 130,000 people with permanent disabilities. The Ukrainian government places rehabilitation through sports at the center of its policy to support veterans.
