“An extraordinary amendment to the law, introduced after the working hours of the National Assembly registry, deputies from the DPS-New Beginning want the approval for the purchase of “Lukoil Neftochim” to go through DANS. Not because they are very concerned about “Lukoil” and because they care about the Bulgarian national interest, but because Peevski is not in the deal.

And since the big “D” is not in the deal and controls DANS, this change is being introduced so that this deal can be concluded with his permission. We are reacting sharply because one person cannot make a legislative change at the last minute in order to have a commission.” This was stated to the media on the sidelines of the parliament by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev regarding the amendments to the Investment Promotion Act submitted to the National Assembly on Tuesday evening by Delyan Dobrev (GERB), Stanislav Atanasov (DPS-New Beginning), Ivan Ibrishimov (BSP) and Pavela Mitova (ITN). An extraordinary energy commission was also convened because of it.

According to Mirchev, this amendment has a direct connection with the publication in the “Wall Street Journal”, since it talks about the sale of “Lukoil” and he called on Boyko Borisov to write a rebuttal in the newspaper. Because otherwise we face big problems with the European Commission - because it refers to the transfer of a strategic infrastructure facility into foreign hands, problems with the US - because Magnitsky sanctions are being discussed unofficially, and problems with Bulgarian legislation.

“And now there is a mechanism under the current legislation - under the Foreign Investment Act, for screening such deals, they must anyway go through an inspection by the National Security Agency”, added the other co-chair of “Yes, Bulgaria” Bozhidar Bojanov.
