No disruptions are expected on the fuel market in Bulgaria, nor an increase in prices after the sanctions imposed by the United States against the Russian oil companies "Rosneft" and "Lukoil". This was stated by the chairman of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association Svetoslav Benchev for BTA, when contacted for comment.

For the moment, I do not expect anything to happen. There are sufficient quantities of fuel on the market and everything is secured, gas stations are working, Benchev pointed out.

He specified that the sanctions imposed by the US are territorially limited and affect American companies and citizens, without having a direct effect on the territory of other countries, including Bulgaria.

Oil prices rose by over 3 percent in Asian trading today, continuing the growth from the previous session, but Benchev does not expect this trend to continue or at least not to serious limits.

Meanwhile, Washington said it was ready to take additional action if Moscow did not agree to an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. Last week, Britain also imposed sanctions on "Rosneft" and "Lukoil", and the European Union approved the 19th package of restrictions, including a ban on the import of Russian liquefied natural gas.
