Deputies from "Vazrazhdane" filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court against the amendments to the SANS Law, which deprive the president of the right to appoint the head of the service by decree, the Bulgarian National Radio reports.

Last week, the head of state's veto was rejected and the parliamentary majority re-adopted the law, which provides for the National Assembly to elect the SANS chairman upon the proposal of the government.

The request to declare it unconstitutional was signed by 59 members of parliament.

Deputy Petar Petrov explained:

"We believe that this law, which was adopted, is unconstitutional, contradicts the principle of the separation of powers, the role of the presidential institution as a balancer to the other powers. We would like to thank the three signatories from "We continue the change" and a total of 13 signatories from APS and "Majesty". Of course, the entire parliamentary group of "Majesty" - 10 signatures. Along with this, as we announced at the moment, we are preparing three more requests to the Constitutional Court. We will again look for the parties that define themselves as opposition, we will look for them for the necessary at least 48 signatures of MPs".

"Vazrazhdane" will attack the procedural rules for electing the chairman of SANS adopted today, as well as the laws on the state agencies "Intelligence" and "Technical Operations", which contain identical changes.

Today, the majority overcame the president's veto on them as well.
