Radoslav Ribarski: We are moving towards the liquidation of "Lukoil"

We are not exaggerating, because the future consequences are measurable with what happened to "Botas". If "Botas" accumulates over the years, all analyses show that we will have arbitration claims, the outcome of which is clear

The extraordinary meeting of the Energy Committee was convened extraordinary and was caused by the indicated president, who vetoed the law concerning the special representative of "Lukoil". This meeting was again convened in violation of the rules that we all voted for in the National Assembly. The colleagues surprised everyone again, but we managed to come together. This was stated by Radoslav Ribarski from "Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) in the program "From the Day" on BNT.

A large part of the motives were presented during the debates in the hall. My appeal was for the ruling majority to listen to the reasons. It is not possible to introduce a completely uncontrolled manager into the refinery with a few paragraphs, without administrative judicial control, indefinitely, and his powers have been extended beyond the critical infrastructure and affect every fuel trader, he specified.

We are not exaggerating, because the future consequences are measurable with what happened with “Botas”. If “Botas” accumulates over the years, all analyses show that we will have arbitration claims, the outcome of which is clear, warned Ribarski.

The special manager was created by our coalition with the aim of guaranteeing management, not seizing assets. He has the right to manage the refinery in such a way as to guarantee that the requirements imposed on the line of not using Russian oil are met. Then a derogation was achieved and a smooth transition to completely non-Russian fuels was achieved. Until the imposition of these sanctions, there were no legally required prerequisites for a special governor. Today, this plan is being followed. By January 2024, we will no longer be using Russian oil, he explained.

We have been asking for a hearing in the plenary hall for three weeks now, but no one is responding to hear what awaits us and what actions we, as the opposition, should take. At the moment, nothing requires these changes with a special governor. The excuse that someone is delaying something is unfounded. What they are choosing so much - it is not known, the PP-DB MP pointed out.

There is no time for constitutional complaints. We need to concentrate on what awaits us after November 21. We still have not received a definitive answer as to whether an official postponement of the November 21 date for imposing sanctions on the Bulgarian refinery and the companies that affect it has been requested, he added.

According to him, the actions of the government show that we are heading towards the liquidation of “Lukoil” with an uncontrolled special manager who can sell everything from shares to fuel without administrative and judicial control. In the words of Radoslav Ribarski, we see a self-forgetfulness.
