The name of the special commercial manager of Lukoil will become clear at the beginning of next week. This was announced today on the sidelines of parliament by GERB leader Boyko Borisov.
The name of the future special manager, who will be able to make decisions about the future of the refinery without the owner's consent, remains unknown.
One of the candidates - the former procurator of one of the leading companies in the industry, Ivo Petrov, denied to bTV that he had been offered this position. Our team was unable to contact the other candidate, according to public information - the former Minister of Economy Petko Nikolov, today.
Meanwhile, two banks want to get ahead of US sanctions and stop relations with "Lukoil" gas stations in our country, claims Borisov.
"I asked Ms. Petkova today to talk to the two banks that service "Lukoil" gas stations, because they want to introduce the ban in advance, and this would create a problem because they will not be able to pay the gas stations, and there is still time until November 21.", said Borisov.
The Association of Banks in Bulgaria did not confirm the allegations. And they told bTV that they can comment on individual decisions or actions of individual members.
"Each bank operates independently and makes its decisions in accordance with its internal policy, the regulatory framework and the applicable legislation,", claims ABB's position to bTV.
We asked the refinery whether there has been a request from banks to terminate their relationships with "Lukoil", but we have no answer. We also contacted the Ministry of Finance with a question about when the meetings Borisov spoke about would be held. They said, and I quote, "the meetings will not be public and will be closed to the media". It was not clear when they would be held, bTV summarized.
