The mayor of Kardzhali Erol Mumun announced to the media that he will submit a proposal to the Municipal Council to reduce the price for the blue zone from 2 leva per hour to 1 leva per hour for a period of six months.
The motive, according to him, are attacks by the mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev against him, as deputy chairman of “DPS-New Beginning“, in connection with the actions of the party leader Delyan Peevski against the increase in hourly parking fees in the capital.
“In recent months, several times a totally failed mayor in governance has decided to use Kardzhali as a reason for his managerial weakness weakness.
We will not allow this to happen and in order to be an example, to show how to govern and how we are successful, not to look for excuses and look for different populist methods, we show how problems are solved when it is for the people, when it is for society“, commented Erol Mumun.
He emphasized that a comparison between the blue zone in Kardzhali and Sofia cannot be made, at least because of the scope and concentration of administrative buildings in the Rhodope city.
„Obviously, Sofia needs a mayor from the New Beginning in order to take the path of its development, because the capital of Bulgaria is the face of Bulgaria and Sofia residents do not deserve such an incompetent and incompetent mayor in terms of governance“, said Erol Mumun.
He explained that the reduction in the blue zone fee in Kardzhali will be for a period of January 1 to the end of June 2026. Both the hourly and 30-minute parking fees will be halved, and the report to the Municipal Council will make it clear whether the fee for the so-called buffer parking will also be reduced. Myumyun pointed out that the idea is to provide relief to people during the months of transition from lev to euro.
