The MPs approved the withdrawal of the state budget for next year, as well as the budgets of the Health Fund and the State Social Insurance, BNT reports. The proposal was submitted by MPs from the ruling coalition - GERB-SDF, "BSP-United Left" and "There is such a people". It was supported by almost all parties and received 201 votes "For".
The "Velichye" party did not exercise its vote.
At the beginning of the session, the deputies from PP-DB and "Vazrazhdane" requested that Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova come to the hall to explain why the budget procedure had failed.
However, the proposal was not accepted by Kostadin Angelov, who was chairing the National Assembly at that time.
According to him, the proposal is not from the government, but from "There is such a people" and therefore it is not mandatory for a cabinet member to be present.
"A week ago we heard that this is the only possible budget, and now no one is motivating its rejection", commented Assen Vassilev from PP-DB.
His colleague Martin Dimitrov also said that even if a new budget is given, it will not provide for a serious reform in spending and that trust in the government has run out.
MECH also spoke out against the budget procedure.
"It is obvious that this budget will have to be corrected, I am not sure whether Mitov should resign from this government, too", commented Nikolay Radulov from MECH.
