Radostin Vassilev: If the scanning devices are adopted now, chaos will ensue

"Next week, the code should not be on the agenda at all, but here we see the impudence of ITN and Toshko, they are forcing the code, constantly including it in an attempt to punish Borisov in some way. The handcuff there was pulled by Borisov, because he is afraid, because he is Zaiko Baiko", the leader of MECH also commented

If the scanning devices are adopted now, chaos will ensue. This was stated by the leader of MECH Radostin Vassilev, after a quorum was not gathered in the plenary hall and the meeting failed due to disagreement between the opposition and the ruling party on the changes to the Electoral Code, a reporter for the "Focus" Agency reported.

"This is Borisov's fear, he pulled 5-6 people not to enter the hall, there is also a split in the BSP, after he fell government", said Vassilev regarding the failed meeting and added:

"Next week, the code should not be on the agenda at all, but here we see the impudence of ITN and Toshko, they are forcing the code, constantly including it in an attempt to punish Borisov in some way. The handcuff there was pulled by Borisov, because he is afraid, because he is Zaiko Baiko".

The MECH leader also commented on the news that Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov signed with US President Donald Trump, the Bulgarian participation in the Gaza Peace Council. Yesterday, the Bulgarian government gave a mandate to Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to sign our country's accession to the Board, pending ratification by the Bulgarian parliament.

"We will abstain on the ratification of Bulgaria's participation in the Peace Council", said Vassilev.

According to him, the resigned prime minister does not have a mandate to represent Bulgaria in any forums.

"This resigned president did well not to go. For me, Bulgaria's position should have been that we have political instability in the country and that we need to have a government with a clear horizon and a majority. If you ask me, as someone who generally approved of Trump's policy, I would even refrain from attending if Azerbaijan and some secondary actors were next to me," Vassilev added.

When asked if they would work with the outgoing president Rumen Radev, he replied:

"We perceive Rumen Radev and his future project as a possible partner. Yes, a majority in the Supreme Judicial Council, a change of the Central Election Commission, a change of the Prosecutor General, a change of the Electoral Code here in a month or two and quick elections, is a plan that we are considering".

"I hope that the new president in the person of Yotova will find a caretaker prime minister as quickly as possible", Vassilev said.
