Svetoslav Benchev: Europe is yet to feel the consequences of the war in the Middle East

As for us, the energy expert reassured by saying that the situation in Bulgaria is "a little better" because we have oil supplies from several places

It doesn't really matter what Donald Trump says, because the war in the Middle East is what determines the behavior of the fuel market, and not who says what, and even the US president. This was stated in an interview with Nova News by the chairman of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association, Svetoslav Benchev.

He added that we are already in a crisis regarding oil, and whether the situation will worsen depends on how long the war in the Middle East will last.

„The next few weeks, Europe will feel the real dimensions of what is happening in the Middle East. Europe should be worried because even if the conflict ends today, it will take months for things to normalize. About 40% of the supplies of diesel and kerosene to Europe come from this region“, explained Benchev.

As for us, the energy expert reassured us by saying that the situation in Bulgaria is “a little better“, because we have oil supplies from several places.

“The problem will be April 26, when the derogation from the American sanctions expires. So it would be good for this derogation to be extended“, Benchev pointed out and assured that as long as the refinery in Burgas is functioning, “everything will be fine“.
