“BSP's priorities are the people's priorities - the topics of war and peace, rising prices and quality of life.“. This was stated by BSP Deputy Chairman Donka Mihaylova in the program “Darik's Week“. According to her, Bulgarian citizens have clearly formulated their main concerns - the desire to live in peace and the uncertainty caused by rising prices. “With each passing day, these topics become more and more relevant and are at the center of our election program.“, she pointed out.

Mihaylova emphasized that society is tired of political opposition and the lack of real solutions: “People are tired of their real problems being replaced by conflicts and hatred.“. She added that people without the necessary experience and expertise are increasingly entering politics, which is why the BSP-OL lists include candidates with proven professional training who can bear responsibility for their decisions.

In her words, the BSP is the only political force that has heard the voice of citizens from the protests and has managed to change: “We transformed this energy, resolved our leadership issue in a democratic way and returned to clear leftist policies.“. According to her, this has given new energy to both the party and the left-wing voters.

Mihaylova outlined peace, the fight against corruption and social protection as the main priorities. “Our opponents are the warmongers and the carriers of addictions – we will pursue honest politics and defend the interests of working people.“, she stated.

Among the specific measures, she pointed out the need for a progressive tax system: “The rich should pay more than the poor, and people with the lowest incomes should not be taxed.“. According to her, this will bring both more justice and additional revenue to the budget.

Donka Mihaylova emphasized the need for urgent action against high prices. “While the government is only talking, small businesses are starting to lay off workers.“, Mihaylova warned and gave examples of difficulties in agriculture, tourism and public transport. She insisted on a package of fiscal measures, including a reduction in VAT and excise duties, following the example of other EU countries.

According to her, in the long term, the BSP proposes reforms in healthcare and housing policy. “Hospitals cannot be commercial companies.“, she said, adding that the state should create a fund to assist young families in purchasing a home, as well as a large-scale renovation program until 2050.

Mihaylova also stressed the need for deep judicial reform: “Lawlessness regarding the Supreme Judicial Council and the Prosecutor General must be overcome, the prerequisites for corruption in the laws must be eliminated, and there must be strict sanctions for corrupt officials.“. According to her, restoring a sense of justice is key to trust in the state.

She stated that the BSP will not compromise with parties associated with the oligarchic model and will seek partnerships based on a clear governing program.

In conclusion, Mihaylova expressed confidence that the left will be part of the next parliament: “I believe in the common sense of Bulgarians – our country needs strong left-wing representation.“.
