Police officers from the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs (SDVR), the General Directorate of the “National Police”, the General Directorate of the “Gendarmerie, Special Operations and Combating Terrorism“ and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will monitor the prevention of anti-social events on the territory of Sofia in connection with today's derby between CSKA and Levski.
This was announced by the SDVR in a post on Facebook.
From 4:00 p.m. at the National Stadium “Vasil Levski“ in Sofia, the football match between the teams of PFC “CSKA“ and PFC “Levski“. A security zone will be built around the stadium, and law enforcement officers will enforce the access regime at several checkpoints. The stadium doors will open at 2:00 p.m. In order to avoid a crowd of spectators, the police urge those wishing to take advantage of this earlier time.
Checks will be carried out to identify persons who have committed anti-social acts, as well as persons with bans imposed on attending sporting events. At the checkpoints, law enforcement officers will also check for carrying prohibited objects and belongings, such as firearms, pyrotechnics, knives, batons, boxes, bottles and others. Minors will be allowed on the stadium grounds only with an adult companion and after a pre-filled declaration, which can also be downloaded from the internet.
Before, during and after the football match, police officers will monitor the preservation of public order and the prevention of anti-social events on the territory of the capital.
The Sofia Police Department also reminds that security companies have been engaged to protect the sports event. The Sofia Police is responsible for setting up reserves for action if necessary and for supporting the activities of the organizer.
Due to the increased spectator interest, traffic difficulties may arise in the central part of the city, the Sofia Police add. If necessary, a temporary suspension of traffic may be required, and it will be restored after the need ceases.
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) is prohibited around the buildings of the National Assembly I, the National Assembly II, the Council of Ministers, the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria and around the National Stadium “Vasil Levski“ in the area of “Tsar Osvoboditel“ Blvd., “Yavorov“ Alley, “Dragan Tsankov“ Blvd., “Graf Ignatiev“ St. and “Vasil Levski“ Blvd. In case of non-compliance with the ban, the relevant administrative measures provided for in the law will be taken against the operators of unmanned aircraft.
