A protest rally in front of the Council of Ministers (MC) will be organized today by the Union of Administrative Employees (SAC) “Support“ and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions from the State Administration and Organizations (FNSDUO) to the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (KNSB).
The action is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and is in connection with the expected decree to overcome disparities in the salaries of employees in the state administration, the press center of the "Support" Confederation of Labor announced.
The chairmen of the SAC and the Federal National Tax Service of Ukraine stated that they have concerns that the amount of funds in the draft decree that was presented to them could be reduced.
“Our concerns are that this decree should have been passed by March 31. On March 31, it was sent in its draft form to the institutions and was supposed to be adopted on April 1”. However, this point was postponed until Wednesday, which in itself means that "someone is pushing some changes", said the chairman of the SAS “Support“ Kremena Atanasova.
Atanasova recalled that the main demand of the union was for a 30 percent increase. Not only that this money should be given, but it should be given additionally until the end of the year until the demands are reached, she also commented.
The last remaining amount was BGN 260 million for equalizing the disparities in the state administration. They are included in the budget, we are just waiting for the distribution by ministries and agencies. He also confirmed that concerns arose after the money was not voted by the Council of Ministers on Monday. Several times we had working meetings where we agreed on things, said the chairman of the FNSDUO Krastyo Boyanov.
The trade unions reminded that the increase in remuneration of workers in the Social Assistance Agency, the Employment Agency and the Labor Offices, the General Labor Inspectorate, the National Revenue Agency, the National Social Security Institute, the Commission for Consumer Protection, the National Health Insurance Fund, etc. is expected . We are talking about over 50,000 people working in the public sector, Boyanov said. There are wages that remain at the level of the minimum wage, and therefore the methodology should lead to growth based on the lowest wages, he specified. We had united around what was agreed as a methodology and decree, we were satisfied, Boyanov also pointed out.
On Monday, with its decree, the government approved additional expenses/transfers under the budgets of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, and the municipalities, in the amount of BGN 71.8 million. On Wednesday, we will have the next decision for an even larger group of people in the administration, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov explained at the beginning of yesterday's government meeting.
