Denkov: The state continued to work at a normal pace, regardless of the complicated situation

We now travel freely by air and water in the Schengen area. With political stabilization, there will also be a decision on land borders in Schengen by the end of the year

I thank all ministers and their teams for keeping up the pace and making these important decisions that citizens and businesses need. The state continued to work at a normal pace, regardless of the sharply complicated and already pre-election situation. This was stated by the resigned Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov before today's meeting of the Council of Ministers.

He listed the results of the cabinet in this additional 10th month.

„We now travel freely by air and water in the Schengen area. With political stabilization, there will also be a decision on land borders in Schengen by the end of the year. The new draft of the Law on the Judiciary is now under public discussion. Without it, constitutional changes cannot lead to real reform of the judiciary. Patients can now get the drug for free at the lowest price from any of the 50 groups for cardiovascular diseases, and the remaining drugs are paid significantly less than now.

MRRB signed 642 agreements with 142 municipalities for the design, construction, major repair and reconstruction of municipal facilities for over BGN 1.7 billion. Over 46,000 small and medium-sized farmers received BGN 154 million under the support scheme for Campaign 2023 - 50% more than the campaign for 2022 Ruse University “Angel Kanchev“ will have its structure in Taraklia.

MMS successfully implemented the program for sports infrastructure, signed contracts for nearly BGN 10 million for over 20 sites, including for the repair of stadiums in the country, construction of playgrounds, halls and playgrounds. We approved a bill to amend the Cultural Heritage Act to ensure that the state provides the necessary protection to sites that are cultural assets. In continuation of the policy of the cabinet in support of religious confessions, we allocated BGN 3 million for the completion of the temple "Temple" of St. protomartyr and archdeacon Stephen” in South Park in Sofia. We also helped with BGN 2 million for Orthodox churches in Stuttgart and London, and today we will vote another BGN 450,000 for churches in Sofia and Sevlievo, Denkov summarized.

„ Today, the government will approve measures to reduce disparities in the administration's pay for BGN 269 million, increasing salaries for all levels, significantly reducing the difference between the existing real minimum and maximum salaries – from almost 5 times the current spread to about 2.5 times. At the same time, the average salary in all administrations at all levels is rising. The new amounts of monthly salaries are determined as of January 1, 2024,”, the resigned Prime Minister also said.

He emphasized that the work continues: “We will make a smooth transition to the caretaker government.“
