Petar Vitanov: I will not be a candidate for the next term in the European Parliament

The list of the BSP will be led by Vigenin, said the MEP

The MEP from the BSP Petar Vitanov will not be a candidate for the next term, BNR reported.

According to him, the socialist party will field a maximum of two MEPs in the elections on June 9, and suggests that the leader of the list will be Christian Vigenin.

Vitanov was adamant that he would not be nominated by a party " Solidarity Bulgaria":

"I have repeatedly had conversations with an awful lot of people, an awful lot of parties. I just figured I really wouldn't want to commit right now. Otherwise, I have many friends there.

Peter Vitanov also commented on the nomination of his colleague Elena Yoncheva:

"It was definitely a surprise for me, but I can't say anything bad. Elena and I have worked for 5 wonderful years, we have been a team, we have voted, we have agreed on almost every policy and, in the end, there is nothing wrong with your work being noticed beyond the borders of the political family.
