Vasil Terziev's team and the rescuers from “Save Sofia” with outright lies and disregarding the opinion of the citizens, they change the traffic on “Patriarch Euthymius“ Blvd. in the center of Sofia.
What is the problem with the project they implemented while lying that they were just patching holes:
They reduce traffic lanes from 3 to 2, parking will be in one of the two - that is, car traffic will be in one lane, because cars will maneuver to park in the other. This will be a nightmare for the traffic around the NDK. More traffic jams, dirtier air and thousands of citizens in their cars at rush hour in one active lane instead of three.
They are removing 140 parking spaces for cars, not 50 as they claim. Where will the residents of the area park? Terziev's team offers them the parking lot next to the national stadium... Brilliant, isn't it? A smart and beautiful decision, no doubt. With the same success, they can also offer parking at the “Gerena“ stadium, because GERB and Fandakova built a subway there as well.
At least BGN 500,000 is worth this crazy experiment with a foregone conclusion. That's an awful lot of money, which is why I'm putting in a formal inquiry into the amount the rescue team is about to spend.
It is done in the dark and after outright lies by Vasil Terziev and the PP-DB-Save Sofia group. Until 7 days ago, they claimed that they were only patching potholes on “Patriarch Euthymius“ Blvd. and tried to hide that they were doing it for the future bike lane. No discussions were held with the people - the thesis that the project was presented 3 years ago is untenable, because precisely because of the opinion of the people from these discussions, the project was stopped and was not implemented by Ms. Fandakova's team. You cannot rule against the citizens. You can't “save” Sofia, who in chains refuses to be “saved”.
The municipal councilors from GERB-SDS insist that Vasil Terziev immediately appear in front of the media and citizens and explain what transport solution he is proposing for “Patriarch Evtimiy“ Blvd. The implementation of the new traffic organization must be immediately stopped and an active dialogue with the residents about its revision must be started.
