The main problem is the quality of the workforce, that is, the skills and competence of the worker. In our country, permanent unemployment is increasingly observed - 140,000 people, and at the same time there are people who have a higher education, but work as a taxi driver, for example.
Thus, Assoc. Dr. Shteryo Nozharov - economic adviser to the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, commented to Euronews Bulgaria on the problems related to the labor market, as well as the qualifications of Bulgarians.
"The quality of the workforce is directly related to labor productivity," he pointed out.
For his part, Lyuboslav Kostov from KNSB stated that "the role of trade unions and collective bargaining will grow, but the first place for us is income". "Labor productivity is important, how we measure it is important," he added. In his opinion, salaries in Bulgaria are too low.
"The difference in prices and the difference in labor productivity largely cannot rationally explain the difference in wages. The labor market is stagnating," added Kostov.
The two believe that the difference in remuneration in the private and public sectors is due to the poor coverage of the private sector.
