There are an awful lot of issues related to the National Children's Hospital that are not are decided yet.
This is what he said in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the world in focus" on Radio "Focus" Petar Galev, executive director of CredoWeb, the National Virtual Network for Communication in Medicine and Healthcare.
"Very quickly, the Ministry of Health must begin action to determine the management of this new hospital, although not yet built. There must be plans for the formation of the teams in its clinics and detachments," Galev stressed.
He pointed out that children's health care is currently scattered in several hospitals: "In Aleksandrovsk hospital, in some private hospitals, in the National Cardiology Hospital, there is also a children's hospital"Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev“, in "Pirogov“ are the only children's surgery and traumatology departments, in ISUL is children's oncohematology. It is not clear whether these departments and structures will move to the new hospital, whether they will build new such structures there, who will work in them. So outside the building, which, thank God, has started, there are an awful lot of questions that have not been resolved yet.
The decision of the MC, which was canceled, to build a private hospital "Mommy and I" Petar Galev commented as follows: "There have been attempts to build a large new private hospital in Sofia for a long time, and this is one of the stages of these attempts that we have now witnessed. There are divergent opinions as to whether there is a need for such a hospital or not, rather the prevailing opinion in the public space is that there are already enough large multi-specialty hospitals in Sofia, both in number and in terms of specialists. So, most likely, this was one stage of the attempt to expand the capital's hospital healthcare".
