„We don't need another hospital. Private in this case. We need a new model of healthcare. And this new model of health care can only be implemented in one national children's hospital – state.“
The chairman of the board of the “Danaya“ foundation commented this to Euronews Bulgaria. Ani Stoyanova in connection with the annulled government decision on the construction of a private children's hospital.
A pediatric institute, whatever you want to call it, but it must be a hospital that will fundamentally change the system of children's health care.
„ Because if such a private hospital is created, serious cases, such as Danaya, will still go to the state structures, because such a hospital, at least in the beginning, will not be able to take on such serious cases. The intensive care unit is the hardest. Financial part – what percentage of the population can afford to pay such huge sums? It will be an additional payment for the treatment, for some expensive treatments for your children. People will still go to state hospitals, and the state structure will be drained of blood. And there these children will have no one to look at them literally. Because we don't have enough doctors, many nurses, even for just one hospital," Stoyanova emphasized.
According to her, the Council of Ministers has no right to cancel its decision to establish a private children's hospital. According to her, difficult trials are ahead for the resolution of this legal case.
