The Ministry of Finance expects a budget surplus of BGN 600 million at the end of last month

600 million BGN surplus is expected in the state treasury at the end of April , according to the estimated data of the Ministry of Finance. This is 0.3 percent of the country's projected gross domestic product, BNR reported.

In April, BGN 300 million was reported as an extraordinary expense for pensions, which according to the calendar should be paid in May, but because of the many days off, were set aside for the previous month. Another BGN 54 million are for Easter supplements. of pensioners with the lowest pensions.

The surplus comes from the profit contributed by the BNB for 2023, which is in the amount of BGN 660 million.

Revenues, aid and donations under the consolidated fiscal program (CFP) as of April 2024 are expected to amount to BGN 22.7 billion, which is 30.2% of the annual estimates, growing with BGN 2.9 billion (by 14.5%) the same period a year earlier.

At the same time, the CFP expenses at the end of April amounted to BGN 22.1 billion, which is 27.1% of the annual estimates.

The part of the contribution of the Republic of Bulgaria to the EU budget, paid as of April 30, 2024 from the central budget, amounts to BGN 500 million, which is in compliance with the currently effective legislation in the field of own resources of the European Union, the Ministry of Finance also states.
