We are marking 148 years since the April Uprising. Tributes to the heroes were also paid last night in Bratsigovo, BNT reported.

The culmination of the celebrations was a reenactment of the reading of Todor Kableshkov's bloody letter at the Sinjirli well, which is a symbol of the beginning of the uprising and the struggle for national liberation. The President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Rumen Radev, took part in the celebrations this evening, who accepted the rank of honor and traditionally delivered a speech in which he recalled the events of the spring of 1876. A solemn dawn-check was also held on the central square in the city.

"Today, it is up to us, the grateful descendants, to carry forward the dedication and patriotism of our ancestors. Only in this way can we redeem our debt to all those who selflessly kindled the fire of the rebellion so that Bulgaria would rise and survive. Tribute to the heroes of the glorious and bloody April of 1876. Long live Bulgaria!", said President Rumen Radev during the celebrations.
